ingredients

  • 4 medium white or russet potatoes
  • cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

instructions

  • Scrub your potatoes and/or peel if desired. Cut them into ¼" thick fries.
  • Place the fries in a microwave-safe bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fries. Carefully remove the wrap and pat them dry with paper towels if needed.
  • Mix olive oil, cornstarch, sea salt and garlic powder in a medium-sized bowl.
  • Evenly coat the fries in the oil and cornstarch mixture.
  • Distribute the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake at 450ºF/220ºC for 15 minutes. Pull the sheet from the oven, gently move the fries around with a metal spatula, and bake for another 15 minutes. Serve straight away.
